Sony Mobile Communications has introduced to the Nigerian market a multi-faceted Android smartphone, Xperia Z, which offers a complete office with integrated features.

The smartphone features one-touch capabilities and offers the best of Sony in a smartphone.

Speaking during the official unveiling of the product in Lagos on Thursday, the Marketing Manager, Africa, Sony Mobile Communications, Mr. Younes Cherkaoui, said Nigeria was becoming a strong focus as a result of its potential in the telecommunications industry.

Cherkaoui added that the smartphone, a complete office with integrated features, would replace computers because of the sophisticated technology deployed in its manufacturing.

The new Xperia Z has a range of features, including a five-inch full HD 1080p reality display, Snapdragon S4 Pro quad-core processor, the mobile Bravia engine 2 and a 13 megapixel fast-capture camera.

Explaining further, Cherkaoui said the device offered the best of advanced technology in a smartphone and also used technology from Sony’s entire range of multimedia products.

The smartphone shares capabilities with Sony digital cameras and features Exmor RS for mobile, the world’s first image sensor with HDR video recording for smartphones.

He said, “The Xperia Z is a game-changer in smartphone technology. It has generated a great deal of excitement internationally since its official unveiling in Las Vegas.

“We anticipate the ultimate range of rich user experiences offered on this stellar model from the Xperia range to increase the momentum several times over in key African markets and Nigeria is one of these key markets.

“Through the Xperia Z smartphone portfolio, Sony Mobile delivers the best of Sony technology, premium content and services, and easy connectivity to Sony’s world of networked entertainment experiences.”
