Fashola to inaugurate Ikeja housing estate

Governor Babatunde Fashola of Lagos State is scheduled to inaugurate the Ikeja Millennium Housing Estate tomorrow (Tuesday).

Located in the high brow Dr. Muiz Banire Street, Government Reserved Area of Ikeja; the 76 units of four-bedroom maisonettes, according to a statement by the Press and Public Relations Officer, state Ministry of Housing, Mr. Adesegun Ogundeji, stand elegantly complementing the landscape of the neighbourhood.

The completion of the estate, which is made up of 10 blocks, nine of which have eight maisonettes each, while the 10th block comprises seven units, according to the statement, is a milestone in the history of government intervention in bridging the housing deficit in the state.

To make the estate functional and self sustaining, Ogundeji said complimenting infrastructure such as well paved network of roads, car park, mini waterworks, electricity and properly landscaped environment had been provided.

“For security of lives and safety of the properties of residents and visitors to the estate, it is protected by a perimeter fence and manned gatehouses. The debut of the estate will sure alter the socio-economic dynamics of the neighbourhood positively,” he added.
