The Institute of Chartered Secretaries and Administrators of Nigeria said it would extend collaboration to other reputable tertiary institutions, having recorded success from its partnership with Babcock University on ICSAN degree linkage programme.

During the investiture of the 25th president of the institute, the new President, Dr. Nat Ofo, said that increased collaboration would also be extended to other professional bodies, regulators, organisations in order to entrench corporate governance in the society.

He said other areas of focus would be the review of the qualifying examinations in order to make it relevant.

Ofo added, “A major constraint we have had with the domestication of the examination is the availability of local study texts for our increasing student population. An effective remedy must be devised to deal with the issue.

“The staff of ICSAN should gear up for some exciting time. There would be adequate attention to human capital development to build capacity for the challenges ahead.”

In his address, the immediate past President of the institute, Dr. Suleyman Ndanusa, said that during his administration, the institute was able to improve its relationship with regulatory bodies like Financial Reporting Council of Nigeria, Securities and Exchange Commission, Corporate Affairs Commission, Central Bank of Nigeria, the Nigerian Stock Exchange and many more.

He said that the linkage programme with Babcock University produced the first set of graduates who were inducted into the institute in April.

According to him, contacts had been established with the Ibrahim Badamasi Babangida University, Niger State, Ahmadu Bello Univeristy, Zaria; Nasarawa State University among others for replication of the ICSAN linkage programme.
