In recognition of the contributions of the retired Archbishop of Ilesa, Methodist Church Nigeria, Lawrence Ladigbolu, to the development of the church and to commemorate his 70th birthday, the Bode Akindele Foundation has donated on his behalf a building that will serve as the Archdiocesan headquarters in Ibadan.

The donor, Sir Bode Akindele, said the Archbishop Ayo Ladigbolu House would create a conducive environment for those whose lot it was to bear the mantle of evangelisation and to also reward Ladigbolu’s service to humanity of Ladigbo.

He said, “The decision our council took, without the participation of our Chairman (Ladigbolu), and for which we crave Your Eminence’s indulgence, is to name this building ‘The Archbishop Ayo Ladigbolu House.’

“This is to honour a man that has so meritoriously served God and man with all his might; he has also given our Foundation an enviable focus that has helped us to deliver on our objectives.”

The Archbishop of Ibadan Archdiocese, Methodist Church Nigeria, Most Rev. Michael Stephen, said the vision that brought the building to be was given to him in early 2007 to bring the church and the society together.

He said the building would be a place to empower young men and women in Information and Communication Technology skills; train people in songs and hymns; and also serve as an office for the Archbishop and his team with a counselling room and health care facilities.
