The Chartered Institute of Personnel Management of Nigeria has said that human resources management in the agricultural sector of the country’s economy will help to maximise harvest and profit.

Chairman, Osun State branch of CIPMN, Alhaji Fatai Adelu, stated this during the annual general meeting and investiture ceremony of a new executive for the institute in Osogbo.

He said, “Human resources management in the agric sector could be harnessed to maximise harvest, profit and achieve stupendous increase in Gross Domestic Product of our national economy.

“We are thereby soliciting for sponsorship of the state government and other stakeholders in the agric sector within and abroad to address the challenges in human resources management in the agric sector in order to maximise the harvest, profit and consequently achieve

stupendous increase in national GDP.

“The national headquarters of CIPMN has recognised the aggressive green revolution embarked upon by Governor Rauf Aregbesola through various agricultural programmes.

“These programmes constitute an unrivalled support for practicing farmers to project the six-point agenda of the government, which include banishment of hunger, poverty and unemployment.”

Commending the state government for approving the hosting of CIPMN’s agric sector forum on human resources management in Osun next month, Adelu said the local organising committee headed by Mrs Iyabo Adepoju

would collaborate with the body’s national headquarters.

Immediate past chairman of the institute, Mr Makanju Anifowose, commended the outgoing executive for serving the institute meritoriously even as he urged the newly inaugurated executive to live above board.
