Governor of Lagos State, Mr. Babatunde Fashola and the Deputy Governor, Operations of the Central Bank of Nigeria, Mr. Tunde Lemo have been selected among the stakeholders in the payment system to discuss the benefits of the cash-less policy at a two-day conference in Lagos.

A statement made available to our correspondent on Thursday said the aim of the event was to bring together all relevant stakeholders in the cash-less ecosystem to deliberate on the successes and challenges of the initiative in Lagos State and the way forward as CBN prepared to roll out the initiative to six other states in the country.

The statement added that the conference would address policy issues as opposed to marketing products and services.

It said, “That is why we make every effort to engage all stakeholders including those who will shape the cash-less policy as well as those who are affected by those policies. At this conference you will find traders, consumers, regulators, legislatures, World Bank representatives and others.”
