Make-up and beauty professionals in the country have the opportunity of expanding their business relationships at the Nigerian International Cosmetics Fair in Lagos later this month.
The NICEX 2013 fair is the initiative of Meridyen International Fair Organisation, an events company that holds exhibitions in different countries with headquarters in Turkey and a Nigerian subsidiary.
The three-day event will showcase products and services from sectors such as fashion and textiles, cosmetics, furniture, tools and machinery.
According to the Project Director, Meridyen International, Mr. Ayodeji Olugbade, who spoke at a press briefing in Lagos on Wednesday, the exhibition is the first of its kind in Nigeria and it is aimed at bringing satisfactory partnership to the country’s beauty industry.
“NICEX is a grand show of its kind, which will have exhibits from top business houses from different parts of the world. The exhibits will include skincare products and professional care products for beauty salons and spas because hairdressers will also form part of the exhibitors,” Olugbade said.
He added that raw materials, business services, trade associations, public institutions and government agencies would also be part of the fair.
The Senior Assistant to the Lagos State Governor on Poverty Eradication, Mr. Idowu Senbanjo, said the state would lend its support to the organisers of the fair.
Senbanjo said the event was in line with the state’s skill acquisition programme designed for people who wanted to learn a trade.
