The Executive Director, Retail Banking, Diamond Bank Plc, Mr. Jude Anele, has said that the development of Small and Medium Scale Enterprise is crucial to the survival of the country’s economy.

Anele said during a press conference to inaugurate the bank’s third edition of  ‘Building Entrepreneurs Today’ in Lagos on Tuesday that no country in the world could survive without focusing on its SMSE.

He said, “The beat of Nigeria is in the small scale enterprise. Also, capacity building of an organisation whether small or big is very important to be successful.”

In a similar remark, the representative of Enterprise Development Centre, Mrs. Nneka Okekearu, said that building entrepreneur was the greatest investment a country or an organisation could  have.

She said, “Diamond Bank, in partnership with Pan African University is investing hugely in the SMSE aimed at producing great entrepreneurs of our time in view of the current economic challenges. The application for candidates will commence next month and the programme will run through five months after which top 15 successful entrepreneurs will be selected by the bank.”

It will be recalled that the bank embarked on the BET project three years ago in partnership with the Pan African University with the sole aim of producing entrepreneurs who would no doubt be employers of labour.
