Residents of Port Harcourt and its environs will now have easier access to quality building and construction materials as Eternit Limited is to open a new contact office/showroom in the Garden City on Wednesday to facilitate the distribution network for its products.

Eternit, a leading producer of roofing and ceiling products, said the new office was part of its strategy to deliver complete building solutions to customers with greater ease.

The Marketing Manager, Eternit Limited, Mr. Kayode Adeniji, said the firm recently decided to create adequate awareness and access to building products of high quality across the country, and that the opening of the Port Harcourt office was a move towards fulfilling that goal.

Adeniji said, “We have often grappled with poor quality building materials in Nigeria, and with our track record as a leading manufacturer of quality roofing and ceiling products, Eternit has resolved to make access to these products easier in every part of the country where we operate.

“The Port Harcourt office will, therefore, be a base for people to get information and also purchase the best roofing and ceiling products available in this country.”

He said the firm’s products also come at very good prices and in different ranges.

Adeniji said, “People think that high quality products come at exorbitant prices, and as a result, settle for low quality ones that they end up replacing within a short time. This is a wrong notion that we want to correct right now.

“Eternit products, though made of the best technology, come in various ranges to meet the building needs of various individuals. The Port-Harcourt office and others that we are opening soon will provide adequate information to people on these.”

He urged homeowners, property developers and builders to embrace the use of high quality products to roof their buildings, adding that the failure of many people to use good products was a major reason why there was high cost of building maintenance in the country.

“We have discovered over the years that one of the reasons why Nigerians continue to spend a lot of money on maintaining their houses a few years after they are built is due to the poor quality of roofing products they use when the buildings were constructed,” he added.
